Today is our tenth mission. We went to Merseburg again and believe me Ive never seen so much flak in all my life. The lead ship made a mistake after bombs away and turned the wrong way right into some more flak. We were in flak for twenty-five solid minutes. We were the luckiest of anybody in the group we only got two holes. Some or I should say most of them really got shot up. Two ships got direct hits and they didnt even have a chance. It really gives you an empty feeling to see a ship go down. We bombed from twenty-six thousand. On oxygen for five hours.
