Co-Pilot 603rd Squadron

Weidig's Mission No.
2

28 October 1944
Target:
Munster, Germany

Saturday, October 28, 1944:

Second mission to Munster. Capt. Scott reported down over Germany along with Shelly. Heard Scott over radio bailing crew out over enemy territory. Fighters reported in area. Did not see any. Flak moderate, very accurate. Lost formation over target. Almost stalled out trying to get back. Lost altitude. Hooked onto another group, came back with them. Number 3 and 4 vibrating badly one hour from base. Rough mission. Were very lucky. Six and a half-hours.
