Rest and Relaxation (R&R)
During their stay at Nuthampstead, the crews and a number of forms of recreation. They might play cards or a game of softball on the base. In the evenings they might visit the local pub. Occasionally they were given a multi-day pass and would visit London. And in the middle of their tour they received about 2-3 weeks to get away from it all. On these longer leaves, some of the men went to designated hospitality locations in Scotland and others to locations within England such as Southport.
